Last year, we were very concerned about the MP Allen development at the SW corner of Sunrise Blvd. and Fair Oaks Blvd. The developer pulled the request for the permit and that project is dead. As a board, we were concerned about the traffic hazard on New York Avenue due to parking along the east side of the street by the tennis courts making the street extremely narrow. Magically, the county put up no parking signs. If you contributed to that action, thank you! Due to the dry hot summer, we were concerned about tall grass at the New York Avenue house across from the apartments as well as the tall grass on the corner of Howard and Sunrise and along Pennsylvania. While we were getting ready to cut it ourselves, the County did its job. One other concern we had in the Spring was the closing of Jim’s Bridge due to the flood damage. As we were in the process of drafting a letter to encourage its swift re-opening, it was. We will be monitoring the repairs. We are happy to see that the Eco-housing project looks like it will be breaking ground soon, which will provide a nice addition to the neighborhood.
