Greetings Neighbors and Friends. Once again, the Annual Picnic and Meeting is fast approaching. As this year’s President of the Board of the Fair Oaks American River Gateway Neighborhood Association (FOARG), I invite you to join us as we share food, fun, and fellowship. Come catch up on activities of the past year and take this opportunity to meet with our new neighbors and old friends.

The FOARG Neighborhood Association exists to provide an open forum for all residents of the neighborhood to involve themselves in the affairs of the neighborhood. This year our neighborhood has undergone a number of changes. The ECO Housing project on New York has presented some traffic, noise and dust management challenges for many of our neighbors. Most of the new dwellings are reportedly sold. Some may even reach completion before years end bring new neighbors into our fold.

The Speed Plateau Project on Magnolia was finished after our last Annual Meeting. The bumps have met with mixed reviews. Some reports indicate a decrease in ‘flow through traffic’, others admit to a slowing effect but no significant decrease in number of cars. Safety being the primary purpose of this modification, most agree that there has been a positive impact in this regard. Other neighbors have expressed interest in extending this project to include the remainder of Magnolia and even Pennsylvania to maximize safety and reduce traffic speed if not volume. These topics are open to discussion. As noted elsewhere in this Newsletter, FOARG is actively working to facilitate timely management of our street surfaces.

Please join us this year at the 2019 FOARG Picnic and Annual Meeting. We’ll be electing new Board Members and welcoming all newcomers as well as friends and neighbors.
